The Xerox Color 8250 Production Printer is a 137-ppm continuous-feed color production system aimed at commercial printers and high-volume in-plant shops doing direct mail, transactional documents, and book block production. Print resolution is 600x600 dpi at full speed, paper handling supports rolls and cut-sheet stacks, and the EFI Fiery front end manages variable data, ICC color matching, and JDF-driven workflows. Monthly volume targets sit in the millions of impressions, and the LED-array print heads handle stocks from 60 to 250 gsm. One regret: this is a true production-floor machine — it needs three-phase power, dedicated HVAC for paper conditioning, and an operator with formal Fiery training, so this isn't a step-up purchase from an MFP. The system runs on Xerox FreeFlow Core or EFI Fiery for queue management, and the LED-array print heads are rated for tens of millions of impressions before scheduled service.
