Is this the right printer for you?

Who the Konica Minolta AccurioPress 7136 is actually for

Most printer pages just tell you what a printer does. Here's the honest version: when this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We sell a lot of these for a reason, but the reason is not "every office."

Best fit

Pick this if...

  • You run a high-volume mono production shop, transactional printer, or in-plant printing 500,000-1,500,000 mono clicks per month.
  • You need 136 ppm mono on substrates from 60 to 350 gsm and SRA3+ at 13x19.2 inches.
  • You print books, manuals, transactional mail, statements, and short-run mono jobs at scale.
  • You already run Fiery, Creo, or KM IC controllers.
  • You want a single-function press — production print only, no walk-up MFP.
Works fine

You'll be happy if...

  • You print 250,000-500,000 mono clicks/month — the press is overbuilt at the bottom end.
  • You're upgrading from a bizhub PRESS 1250 or AccurioPress 6136 — chassis and finishers carry over.
  • You print specialty stocks — engine handles them, plan substrate certification time per job.
Look elsewhere

Skip this if...

  • You print color — the 7136 is mono only. Look at the AccurioPress C7100, C12000, or C14000.
  • You print under 150,000 mono clicks/month — look at a smaller AccurioPress 6120 or 7120.
  • You print over 1,750,000 mono clicks/month — move up to the AccurioPrint 2100.
  • You need walk-up scan/copy — get the 6136 or 6136P with DSPF.
  • You don't have a Konica Minolta production dealer — service, supplies, and Fiery support run through dealers only.
Full specifications

Every spec, no guessing

The Konica Minolta AccurioPress 7136 is a high-volume single-function sheet-fed mono digital production print engine built for transactional print, book and manual printers, and corporate in-plants producing 500,000 to 1,500,000 mono clicks per month. It prints at 136 ppm on substrates from 60 to 350 gsm and supports SRA3+ at 13x19.2 inches. The press is single-function — purpose-built for prepress-driven production where it's fed from external EFI Fiery, Creo, or KM IC controllers without a walk-up MFP panel. Online paper supply runs up to 7,500 sheets across the engine and high-capacity feeders. The optional IQ-501 closes the loop on density and registration inline. The 15-inch operator panel walks job programming. The 7136 sits one rung above the 6136 in the mono lineup — same chassis, but the 7-series adds refinements aimed at higher monthly volume and tighter consistency. The thing buyers actually like: dedicated production engine with sharp mono economics. The thing buyers regret: needing copy/scan after the fact — the single-function 7136 cannot be field-converted to MFP. Sold through KM Production Print dealers; plan operator training, service contracts, and 3-phase power.

Supplies & consumables

Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.

If you lease this printer through us, toner and drum are included. You never pay for supplies separately. That's usually the better deal once you add up real costs over 3 years.

FAQ

Konica Minolta AccurioPress 7136, common questions

The questions we get asked most often on this model. If yours isn't here, call (616) 800-7682 and get an answer in about 30 seconds.

Yes, the Konica Minolta AccurioPress 7136 ships with a starter toner cartridge. The starter toner is rated for approximately 105,000 pages at 5% coverage. Replacement toner cartridges, such as the Konica Minolta A9K113A TN017H, are high-yield and designed for high-volume production. When you lease through us with toner included, you never pay for toner separately.
The Konica Minolta AccurioPress 7136 is a monochrome printer designed for high-volume black-and-white printing at 136 ppm, while the AccurioPress C12000 is a color printer with a speed of 120 ppm for both color and monochrome prints. The C12000 supports a wider range of media weights (up to 450 gsm) and includes the IQ-501 Intelligent Quality Optimizer for automated color management, which the 7136 lacks. The 7136 is ideal for transactional and monochrome production, whereas the C12000 is suited for commercial color printing. For small offices needing color, the C12000 offers greater versatility.
The Konica Minolta AccurioPress 7136 is designed for high-volume production, handling 500,000 to 1,500,000 pages per month at 136 ppm, making it overkill for most small businesses. It lacks copy/scan functionality and requires external controllers, which may not be practical for smaller offices.
No, the Konica Minolta AccurioPress 7136 is a monochrome-only printer. For color printing, consider alternatives like the Konica Minolta AccurioPress C12000, AccurioPress C14000e, or other color production presses from our lineup.
