The bizhub PRO C5501 prints color and B&W at 55 ppm on 13x19 stock up to 300 gsm and is a refresh of the PRO C5500 with updated Fiery integration. Multifunction with walk-up scan and copy. Designed for in-plants and corporate print rooms running 25,000 to 100,000 color pages a month. Optional perfect binder PB-501 and SD-506 saddle-stitch finishing. The IC-304 or IC-413 Fiery controller handles imposition and basic VDP. One regret: at 55 ppm color, the PRO C5501 is slower than the original C5500 in some configurations — Konica tuned the engine for stock-handling reliability rather than peak speed. If raw throughput matters more than coated-stock dependability, look elsewhere. PRO C5501 makes sense for in-plants where mixed coated and uncoated work runs through the same engine and a couple of ppm matters less than feed reliability.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.
