Xerox DocuColor 8080

Xerox's DocuColor 8080 is an 80-ppm cut-sheet color production press positioned as the late-life refresh of the DocuColor 8000 line. Monthly duty cycle is 750,000 pages, paper capacity reaches 6,755 sheets, and stocks 60-350 gsm up to 14.33x19.21 inches are supported (note: the 8080 added the 350 gsm ceiling that earlier 8000 models capped at 300). Resolution is 2400x2400 dpi, and the EFI Fiery or Creo controller handles VDP, ICC, and JDF workflows. Single-function form factor. Inline finishing covers stacker, booklet maker, SquareFold, and perfect binder. One regret: the 8080 was the bridge to the Color 800/1000 series, so it sits in an awkward spot — it's the latest of the DocuColor family but the next step up is fundamentally newer technology, and the price gap may not justify staying on the older platform. The press supports VIPP and FreeForm 2 for variable-print direct mail, and integrates with FreeFlow Process Manager for automated routing across mixed devices in the shop.
