MACH 6 digital printer

The Quadient MACH 6 is a Memjet-based color inkjet built for short-run commercial color printing — full-bleed color on envelopes, packaging, and thick media up to 10 mm (about 3/8 inch). The 8.77-inch wide print path and speeds up to 8,000 #10 envelopes/hour put it in production-printer territory, while a 7-inch touchscreen and Wi-Fi/USB/Ethernet make it more workgroup-friendly than its bigger sibling, the MACH 5. The buyers are direct mail shops, packaging printers, and small print operations expanding into color envelope work. The thing buyers regret: assuming "workgroup-friendly" means it fits anywhere — it's still a sizable production unit with real footprint and power requirements. Also: duplex is manual, not automatic. If you're printing two-sided pieces, you'll be flipping stacks. Memjet ink is cost-effective per piece compared to toner color, but you'll go through it fast at 8,000 envelopes/hour, so model CPP before you commit. Best for shops that need to add color envelope or thick-media capability without jumping to a six-figure production press. If you're printing on standard paper for an office, this is the wrong tool — a Brother, HP, or Epson WorkForce is what you want.
