Xerox iGen3

The Xerox iGen3 is the original-generation iGen platform — cut-sheet color production press for commercial print shops, predecessor to the iGen4 and iGen 5 families. Monthly duty cycle in active production is in the multiple hundreds of thousands, paper handling supports stocks up to 350 gsm and sheets up to 14.33x22.5 inches, and resolution is 600x600 dpi (lower than the iGen4/5 platform that introduced 2400 dpi). The Creo or EFI Fiery controller handles VDP, ICC, and JDF workflows. One regret: the iGen3 is genuinely legacy at this point — Xerox stopped manufacturing it years ago, parts and toner inventory has thinned considerably, and the lower 600 dpi resolution makes it visibly behind current iGen 5 quality. Refurb only with strict supply guarantees, and only for matched-fleet additions. The press integrates with Xerox FreeFlow Process Manager for routing across mixed Xerox production devices, and supports VIPP and FreeForm 2 for variable-print direct mail jobs. Xerox dealer service contracts on iGen-class presses typically run $0.03-$0.07 per color page depending on minimum monthly volume committed and the optional fifth color station.
