The Xerox Nuvera 157 MX is the MICR variant of the 157 EA — same 157 ipm engine, same 4800 x 600 dpi output, but with magnetic ink character recognition certified for check printing. Banks, credit unions, insurance carriers, and government check-issuing agencies are the buyers. Monthly capacity tops out at 4.7 million images. Adjustable line screen runs 85, 106, 125, 134, or 156 lpi to match form requirements. Dual 3,200-sheet trays handle MICR-grade stock 5.5 to 12.6 inches wide and 44 to 300 gsm. Inline stack, booklet, staple, and hole punch are available. The thing buyers regret: forgetting that MICR is a regulated workflow. You need MICR toner from a certified supplier, MICR-grade check stock, secure storage, and audit-ready logging. The 157 MX is just the engine — the compliance program around it is on you. Also worth noting: this is simplex production. If you wanted MICR duplex perfecting at this speed, you want the Nuvera 314 MX instead.
