The Konica Minolta bizhub 500 is a discontinued enterprise B&W A3 multifunction printer launched around 2007, designed for departments and large workgroups of 30-75 people that needed high-volume tabloid-size output. It runs at 50 ppm B&W on letter (26 ppm on 11x17) with a first-copy-out around 3.9 seconds and a 30-second warm-up. Standard paper input is two 500-sheet drawers plus a 150-sheet bypass; max capacity is 6,650 sheets across the optional PC-204 tandem cabinet plus LU-203 large-capacity unit. The 8.5-inch monochrome touchscreen LCD was solid for its era but feels generations behind today's 9-inch tablet panels — workflows take more clicks. Color scanning runs to email, FTP, SMB, and HDD User Box via the optional DF-605 100-sheet reversing ADF. Finishing options include FS-510 50-sheet stapler with optional 2/3-hole punch and SD-503 50-page saddle-stitch booklet maker, plus options for hole-punch and post-insertion. The thing buyers regret: it predates current cloud workflows, AirPrint, Mopria, and modern security standards — fine as a workhorse refurb in the $1,500-2,500 range, not for new installs.
