Konica Minolta bizhub C550

The Konica Minolta bizhub C550 is an A3 color MFP at 45 ppm in color and B&W, sized for enterprise workgroups doing 25,000 to 70,000 pages a month. This was Konica's flagship in its day — heavier-duty engine than the C450 series, larger paper capacity options, and access to the heavier finishing accessories including post-insertion and saddle-stitch booklet making. Standard print, copy, scan-to-email/FTP/SMB. Optional duplex, optional fax, optional finisher options, optional LCT. The thing buyers regret most: the C550 is a legacy unit with an older operator panel — no smartphone-style touchscreen, no native AirPrint or Mopria, and firmware that's reaching end of support depending on serial number. People assume because it's marketed as enterprise-class it must be current. It's not. Toner pricing is no longer competitive against current-gen. Parts inventory is shrinking. Best fit today is matching an existing C550 fleet, or as a low-cost workhorse for an office that already has a service contract supporting the line. For brand-new enterprise A3 at 45-55 ppm, look at the C550i or C658 — current touchscreen, modern security baseline, and parts horizon that goes out at least five years.
