  • You want Wi-Fi — add the MarkNet N8372 adapter for around $100, not included in base config.

  • You print over 10,000 pages a month — get a CX730 or CX820 instead.
  • You need 11x17 (tabloid) — this is letter/legal only. Step up to a CX820 for A3.
  • You print under 1,500 pages a month — you're paying for a 40-ppm enterprise-class workgroup MFP and using maybe 10% of it. The CX430 is a better fit.
  • You need wireless out of the box — Wi-Fi is an optional adapter on this model.

It runs 40 ppm in both black and color, holds 250 sheets standard plus single-sheet bypass (expandable to 1,450 with optional 550-sheet drawers), and is rated for a 100,000-page monthly duty cycle (Lexmark recommends 1,500-10,000 pages/month). The 100-sheet single-pass duplex ADF scans up to 100 images per minute — about double what a reversing-ADF machine does on two-sided originals — which is the main reason scan-heavy offices pick this over the CX522 or CX430. The 7-inch e-Task tilting touchscreen runs Lexmark's full embedded solution framework (eSF apps, Workpath), so scan-to-SharePoint, scan-to-folder, and held print jobs are all native, not bolt-ons. The thing buyers regret: no Wi-Fi standard. You'll spend another $100 on the MarkNet N8372 if you need wireless. If you need a hard drive for stored jobs and OCR, look at the CX625adhe variant.
