Lexmark CX820 Series

The Lexmark CX820de is an A4 color laser MFP for workgroups and departments of 30-75 people that need 52-ppm color throughput, a 150-sheet ADF, and 4,500-sheet maximum paper capacity. It runs 52 ppm in both black and color, holds 650 sheets standard, and is rated for a 200,000-page monthly duty cycle (Lexmark recommends 2,500-25,000 pages/month). First page out is 7 seconds, scan destinations include email, network folder, FTP, USB, and LDSS, and the 7-inch color touchscreen runs Lexmark's eSF and Workpath frameworks. The scanner is a CCD-based dual-pass duplex unit — it scans both sides but takes two passes per sheet, which makes it slower than the CX825's single-pass DADF on heavy two-sided workloads. The thing buyers regret: assuming the CX820 does A3. It does not — letter/legal only. If your team needs 11x17 tabloid output, you're looking at the CX920, CX930/CX940 instead. If you need a 10-inch touchscreen and single-pass duplex scanning, step up to the CX825 — same chassis, better scanner, bigger screen, higher recommended volume. The CX820 is the right call when you want the chassis and capacity but don't need the upgrades.
