Xerox AltaLink C8045

The Xerox AltaLink C8045 is a floor-standing A3 color laser multifunction printer for departments of 25-75 people printing 8,000-20,000 color pages a month. It runs 45 ppm color and B&W (letter/A4), with first-page-out as fast as 6.5 seconds color / 5.3 seconds B&W and a 200,000-page monthly duty cycle — twice the C8035. The 130-sheet single-pass Duplex Automatic Document Feeder scans 80 ppm simplex / 139 ipm duplex in color and B&W. Standard paper capacity is 1,140 sheets (two 520-sheet trays + 100-sheet bypass); the optional High Capacity Tandem Tray gets you to 3,140 sheets, and the 2,000-sheet HCF caps the system at 5,140 sheets. Print is 1200 x 2400 dpi; copy is 600 x 600 dpi. Finishing options: Office Finisher LX with Booklet Maker, BR (Business Ready) Finisher with 3,000-sheet stacker and 50-sheet stapling, or BR Booklet Maker Finisher with saddle-stitch up to 16 sheets. The 10.1-inch ConnectKey color touchscreen runs Workplace Suite/Cloud and the Xerox App Gallery (Box, Dropbox, OneDrive, Office 365, Google Drive, Salesforce). Connectivity standard is Gigabit Ethernet plus USB 2.0; Wi-Fi Direct/NFC optional. The optional EX-c C8000 EFI Fiery print server adds production-grade RIP. Security stack includes McAfee Embedded Control whitelisting, AES 256-bit drive encryption, FIPS 140-2, Common Criteria HCD-PP v1.0, and Cisco ISE compatibility. The thing buyers regret: choosing the C8045 when usage is closer to 5,000-8,000 pages/month. The C8035 is the same chassis at lower cost-per-click; size down if your real volume isn't there.
