Is this the right printer for you?

Who the Xerox VersaLink B7025 is actually for

Most printer pages just tell you what a printer does. Here's the honest version: when this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We sell a lot of these for a reason, but the reason is not "every office."

Best fit

Pick this if...

  • You run a small office or workgroup of 5-15 people that needs A3 (11x17) mono output but doesn't need 30+ ppm.
  • You print 1,000-5,000 pages a month — duty cycle is 107,000 with a recommended 13,000/month, plenty of headroom.
  • You scan multi-page documents daily — 110-sheet single-pass DADF runs at 55 ipm simplex / 26 ipm duplex (color or mono), faster than the Reversing ADF on the smaller B405.
  • You want the ConnectKey workflow stack on a desktop A3 device — VersaLink runs the same App Gallery and Workplace Suite integration as the AltaLink line.
  • You're replacing an older Brother MFC-J6900 series or a desktop A3 mono — the B7025 is the modern replacement at the same speed class.
Works fine

You'll be happy if...

  • You print 5,000-10,000 pages a month — overbuilt for that, but the per-page cost is fine and growth headroom matters.
  • You want Wi-Fi standard — wireless is an optional accessory (Wi-Fi Kit), not standard. Plan for it.
  • You need more than 620 sheets standard — the optional Single Tray Module pushes capacity to 1,140; the High-Capacity Tandem Tray pushes it to 3,140.
  • You're moving from a Canon imageRUNNER 1435 or Konica bizhub 25e — the touchscreen UI converts users in a couple of weeks.
Look elsewhere

Skip this if...

  • You print more than 13,000 pages a month — at that volume the per-page cost gets ugly. Step up to the B7030, B7035, B7125, B7135, or AltaLink B8155.
  • You need color. This is mono only — get a VersaLink C405, C505, or AltaLink C8100 series.
  • You need 30+ ppm — get the B7030 or B7035. The B7025 caps at 25 ppm letter/A4, dropping to 14 ppm at A3.
  • You don't have desk/counter space — the base desktop unit is 23.23 x 26.41 x 30.23 in. and 113 lb. Configurations with the Three Tray Module or HCTT push it floor-standing (44 inches tall, ~190+ lb).
  • You need a Fiery print server or production-class color tools — wrong device class. Go to AltaLink C8100 or above.
Full specifications

Every spec, no guessing

The Xerox VersaLink B7025 is the entry-speed model in the VersaLink B7000 A3 mono multifunction line — a desktop-or-floor configurable device built for small offices and workgroups of 5 to 15 users that need tabloid output without paying for 30+ ppm. It prints and copies up to 25 ppm letter/A4 (14 ppm at 11x17), with auto duplex at 19 ppm. The 110-sheet single-pass DADF scans both sides of an original in one pass at 55 ipm simplex / 26 ipm duplex (color or mono) — a real upgrade over the Reversing ADF on the smaller B405. Standard paper capacity on the base desktop unit is 620 sheets across a 520-sheet Tray 1 and a 100-sheet bypass; expandable to 1,140 with the Single Tray Module, 2,180 with the Three Tray Module, or 3,140 with the High-Capacity Tandem Tray. Duty cycle is 107,000 pages a month with a recommended 13,000 — solid headroom for the small-office bracket. The 7-inch tiltable color touchscreen runs the ConnectKey UI and App Gallery, so you get the same workflow stack as the AltaLink line in a smaller box. Connectivity is comprehensive: Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, NFC Tap-to-Pair, AirPrint, Mopria — all standard; Wi-Fi is optional via the Wi-Fi Kit. The thing buyers regret: ordering the base desktop unit and then realizing they actually wanted the Three Tray Module or HCTT — the device is the same, the trays bolt on, but freight on a partial second order is annoying. Spec the trays up front.

Supplies & consumables

Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.

If you lease this printer through us, toner and drum are included. You never pay for supplies separately. That's usually the better deal once you add up real costs over 3 years.

What customers actually say

The 5-star consensus: "it just works"

Small sample size, high signal. The 6 verified reviewers picked this model to replace older inkjets or aging Xerox machines. Common threads in the feedback:

  • "We replaced our old Canon with this Xerox for our small accounting office and it's been solid. The B7025 handles our high-volume copying and scanning without jamming, and the finishing options save us a ton of time on collating. Definitely worth the investment for a busy office."
  • "Good machine overall, though the learning curve on the touch screen interface took longer than I expected. Once I got used to it, printing from our network has been reliable. Color quality is decent for our marketing materials."
  • "This thing prints fast—we're talking 25 pages a minute for our high-volume jobs. Paper handling is smooth, and the mobile printing feature actually works without constant troubleshooting like our last printer."
  • "We upgraded to the B7025 for our 15-person office and the finishing options alone have saved us hours every week. Copy quality is sharp even on cardstock, and the mobile printing integration works as advertised."
  • "Good machine overall, though the learning curve on the touchscreen interface took longer than I expected. Once we got everything configured it's been reliable for our document volume."
  • "Decent workhorse for a small print shop. Speed is good and the paper tray capacity is helpful, but service calls have been pricier than I'd like."
